Overview

Emily Jenks is a member of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute resolution Practice Group. She represents clients involved in commercial litigation matters.

Before joining Bodman as an associate attorney, she participated in the firm’s summer associate program, gaining broad exposure to a variety of clients and areas of practice.

As a law student at Michigan State University College of Law, Ms. Jenks served as a managing editor for the Michigan State Law Review. She participated on the Williams Moot Court Competition Team (Spring 2019 and Spring 2020). Ms. Jenks was a King Scholar. She served as a volunteer clinician with the Animal Welfare Clinic and as an officer with the Anti-Trafficking Legal Advocacy Society. She served as a T.A. for Civil Procedure for Professor Michael Sant’Ambrogio and for Constitutional Law and the Regulatory State for Professor Noga Morag-Levine. She also served as a research assistant for the Lori E. Talsky Center for Human Rights of Women and Children, as a student attorney with the University of Michigan Human Trafficking Clinic, and as a legal intern with the City of Lansing Office of the City Attorney.

She is the author of “The Bear Necessities: Why Captive Exhibited Animals Need Stronger Regulation based On Their Species-Specific Biological Needs,” 2019 Mich. St. L. Rev. 1081 (2019).
