DeVaughn Swanson represents corporate clients in significant transactions and general business matters, leveraging his background as a business consultant to provide strategic yet practical advice.
Before becoming an attorney, DeVaughn worked as a business consultant to multi-billion dollar organizations in the consumer products, life sciences, and retail industries on geographic ecommerce expansion projects. Most recently he worked as a Corporate Executive Fellow at the corporate headquarters of a major national restaurant franchise where he assisted the CEO and corporate foundation executive director with internal and external strategic initiatives.
Before joining Bodman, DeVaughn practiced as a business and litigation associate with a large Michigan-based business law firm.
As a law student, DeVaughn served as a summer judicial clerk to Chief Justice Harold Melton of the Georgia Supreme Court. He also served on the Board of Directors of the National Black Law Students Association and as President of the UGA Law School Chapter of the Black Law Students Association. He was a founding member of the Law Students’ Association for Civil Rights and volunteered with the University of Georgia School of Law Public Interest Clinic and Economic Opportunity Clinic.
As an undergraduate he was awarded an Oprah Winfrey Scholarship and served as an intern in the Office of the President of Morehouse College.
