Cybersecurity Engineer – Detroit Office – Full Time

The Role:

Bodman PLC, a leading law firm in Michigan, is seeking a highly skilled cybersecurity engineer to join our growing team. This is a new role working directly with the Director of Information Technology, and Bodman’s leadership team, in collaboration with the Cloud and Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day product ownership of the firm’s cyber security tools and platforms, identifying and managing the mitigation of vulnerabilities, answering client security risk assessments, maintaining relevant policy reviews, and actively promoting and championing best practice to maintain the security of the firm’s network and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct security risk assessments for clients, identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, and aid in the development of strategies to mitigate them.
  • Maintain policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with security regulations and industry standards.
  • Day to day management of firm cyber security tools and platforms. Monitor security logs and alerts, analyze security incidents, and respond to security breaches and threats.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and external technology partners to implement security solutions and provide security training to staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends, and implement best practices to prevent cyber-attacks.

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, such as CIS Controls, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools, network and application security testing, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of security technologies and products, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and XDR/MDR.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, including Intune and SCCM for policy and device management.
  • Detailed knowledge of Azure permissions and rights models, and Azure AD for use as an IdP.
  • Experience with security incident response and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with and work collaboratively with the firm’s external cyber security technology partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Any qualifying certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM are preferred.
