Emily Cross represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Her experience also encompasses securities litigation, contract disputes, constitutional litigation, and administrative law matters, among others.
Emily joined Bodman in September 2021 after practicing for five years in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. She has prepared pleadings and motions in federal and state court litigation, worked with experts to draft expert reports, interviewed and prepared deposition witnesses, drafted discovery requests and responses, managed e-discovery and document production processes, and assisted with oral argument preparations.
She has also been active in pro bono matters including representing clients in immigration appeals to the Ninth Circuit, representing asylum and u-visa applicants in immigration applications and proceedings, and conducting legal and policy research on racial justice issues. As a law student, she served as a legal intern with the Association for the Prevention of Torture in Geneva, Switzerland.
At the University of Michigan Law School, Emily served as an Associate Editor of the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform. She was also an active volunteer with the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic and the Women‘s Law Student Association.
