Aidan A. Maraachli and Jennifer E. Black Join Bodman PLC

By: Bodman PLC

10/27/25

Bodman PLC is pleased to announce two new additions to the firm: Aidan A. Maraachli joins as a senior associate in the firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group, and Jennifer E. Black joins as a senior counsel in the firm’s Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing Practice Group.

Based in Bodman’s Troy office, Maraachli represents clients involved in complex commercial litigation matters. Before joining Bodman, Maraachli served as a law clerk for the Hon. Curtis Ivy, Jr., the Hon. Michael J. Hluchaniuk, and the Hon. Stephanie Dawkins Davis of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In these roles, he drafted opinions on all pre-trial matters ranging from jurisdiction and discovery to complex constitutional and commercial litigation claims. He also managed cases through litigation from discovery to oral argument.

As a law student, Maraachli graduated first in his class and was the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. He was also a member of Moot Court, the Student Honor Code Task Force, American Inns of Court, and OutLaws. He volunteered as a student attorney for the Hazel Park City Attorney’s Office.

Maraachli is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, summa cum laude.

Based in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office, Black counsels nonprofit and other tax-exempt organizations and the investors who support them on a broad range of legal, operational, compliance, and administrative issues. She leverages both her legal training and her years of experience working in senior administrative roles with nonprofit organizations to provide her clients with practical and effective advice.

Before joining Bodman, Black served as a compliance and project manager at a nonprofit health policy and research center. In this role, she offered consulting services, strategic advice, programmatic support, and project management for the establishment and operation of community care networks and hubs. She has also worked with local, state, and federal agencies, in grants and contracting, and on matters of governance and administration.

Black received both her J.D. and undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan.
