Bodman Attorneys Brian E. Kersey and Lindsay M. Cummings Selected for Grand Rapids Top Lawyers List

By: Bodman PLC

12/02/20

Bodman is pleased to announce that two of its attorneys, Brian E. Kersey and Lindsay M. Cummings, have been selected for the 2020 “Top Lawyers” list published in the December 2020 issue of Grand Rapids Magazine.

The Top Lawyers list is based on a peer-review survey sent to lawyers in the Grand Rapids area. Lawyers were asked to nominate peers based on excellence in their area of practice. Inclusion on the list is based solely on the results of the peer vote.

Kersey, who practices in Bodman’s Grand Rapids office, is listed in the category of Banking and Financial Services. A former banker, Kersey focuses his legal practice on commercial finance and aviation law. His commercial finance practice includes extensive experience representing both lenders and borrowers in syndicated loan facilities, secured and unsecured term loans, and revolving credit facilities, real estate and construction lending. His aviation law practice encompasses purchase and sale transactions, regulatory compliance, risk management, tax planning, Part 91 and Part 135 operations, and management and leasing arrangements for both aircraft and hangar space. He has extensive experience in international aviation purchases and sales.

Kersey is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. He earned an M.B.A. with honors from Indiana University and a B.B.A. from Central Michigan University.

Cummings, who also practices in Bodman’s Grand Rapids office, is listed in the category of Trusts and Estates. She represent individuals in connection with estate planning and estate administration matters including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, guardianships, conservatorships, and trust and probate administration. Cummings has served as an adjunct professor with Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where she taught contracts and estate planning.

Cummings is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law and earned her undergraduate degree at Albion College.
