Bodman PLC “Highly Recommended” in Benchmark Litigation 2018

By: Bodman PLC

10/10/17

Bodman PLC has again been named a “highly recommended” Michigan law firm for business litigation by the internationally-recognized peer and client review journal Benchmark Litigation 2018.

Firms listed as “highly recommended” received the most favorable evaluations by peers and clients during Benchmark’s extensive research process and are regarded as “dominant” in their jurisdiction and area of practice.

Benchmark also recognizes individual litigation attorneys as “State Litigation Stars” or “Future Stars.” Bodman attorneys listed as State Litigation Stars include Thomas P. Bruetsch, Michelle Thurber Czapski, Jason R. Gourley, George G. Kemsley, Dennis J. Levasseur, Jeffrey G. Raphelson, Joseph J. Shannon, Thomas J. Tallerico, and Thomas Van Dusen.  Bodman attorneys listed as “Future Stars” are G. Christopher Bernard and Rebecca D’Arcy O’Reilly.  Bodman has more attorneys listed in Benchmark 2018 than any other Michigan law firm.

In its 2018 editorial on Bodman, the editors of Benchmark noted that “the firm boasts a diverse litigation practice with professionals described as ‘excellent’ who handle client matters for small entrepreneurial entities as well as high-profile Fortune 500 companies. One client says about the firm’s litigation group, ‘The attorneys are very responsive and prompt with their work product and in returning calls’.”

Benchmark is the only rating publication that focuses exclusively on litigation in the United States.  Its findings are the result of four to six months of research with leading litigation attorneys and their clients.  Researchers examine recent casework handled by law firms and ask individual litigators to offer their professional opinions on peers.

Bodman’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group attorneys appear before state and federal courts, and also non-judicial forums such as national and international arbitral panels.  Client issues vary from breach of contract claims to antitrust, securities, professional liability, and other complex matters.  The group’s expertise spans many industries including accounting, banking and financial services, automotive, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate and zoning, and construction, among others.
