Bodman Volunteers Spend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Serving the Community
01/19/18
A number of Bodman volunteers spent the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday engaged in service activities benefiting worthy individuals and organizations throughout our communities.
Many of our volunteers – more than 30 – spent the day assisting Grace Centers of Hope at several of their facilities that serve families and children in need, including sorting new donations in the thrift stores, preparing meals in the kitchens, and assisting the staff at the childcare center. Others participated in service projects at Troy Athens High School, including assembling care packages for military members serving overseas, packing warmth and hygiene supplies for homeless shelters, making blankets for children, veterans and cancer patients, and donating blood as part of a Red Cross drive. Thanks to all who participated in this national day of service!
