Matthew A. Slipchuk and DeVaughn J. Swanson Join Bodman PLC Detroit Office

Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that attorneys Matthew A. Slipchuk and DeVaughn J. Swanson have joined the firm as associates in the Business Practice Group based in the Detroit office.
Slipchuk represents business clients in connection with complex transactions and general corporate matters. He has particular experience advising on the tax aspects of M&A transactions.
Before joining Bodman he practiced as a senior associate in the Chicago office of a global accounting firm where he represented large corporate clients and private equity firms as a transactional tax advisor. He participated in more than 70 successful M&A transactions ranging in size from $25 million to $24 billion involving businesses in the healthcare, defense, SaaS, and general manufacturing industries, among others.
Slipchuk earned his law degree from DePaul University Law School and an LL.M. in taxation from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor.
Swanson represents corporate clients in significant transactions and general business matters. Before joining Bodman, he practiced as a business and litigation
associate with a large Michigan-based business law firm.
Before becoming an attorney, Swanson worked as a consultant to multi-billion dollar organizations in the consumer products, life sciences, and retail industries on geographic ecommerce expansion projects. Most recently he worked as a corporate executive fellow at the corporate headquarters of a major national restaurant franchise where he assisted the CEO and corporate foundation executive director with internal and external strategic initiatives.
Swanson earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He also holds a Master’s in Theological Studies from Duke University and a B.B.A. from Morehouse College.
