Michelle Thurber Czapski and Jennifer M. Oertel Named to Michigan Super Lawyers "Top 50 Women" List

Bodman PLC in pleased to announce that the editors of Michigan Super Lawyers have included Michelle Thurber Czapski and Jennifer M. Oertel on the publication’s list of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in Michigan.
The Super Lawyers Top 50 Women list includes a select group of Michigan attorneys who achieved exceptional results in the publication’s annual survey of leading lawyers in all major areas of practice. The publisher of Super Lawyers uses a selection process that combines peer nominations, in-depth professional evaluations, and independent research to compile its lists.
Czapski, of Bodman’s Troy office, is chair of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group and co-chair of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. She represents major corporate clients in litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings across the United States. She has been listed on the Super Lawyers Top 50 Women list since 2019 and is also included in the publication’s list of Michigan’s Top 100 lawyers. Among Czapski’s many other recent accolades, she was named a “Go-To Lawyer” for Business Litigation by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and received recognition in Benchmark Litigation as a “Litigation Star.”
Oertel, of Bodman’s Ann Arbor office, is co-chair of the firm’s Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing Group. She provides strategic business advice including securities, private equity, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate governance for tax-exempt clients and the investors who support them. A recognized authority on tax-exempt organizations law, Oertel is the co-chair of the Nonprofit Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She has been listed in Michigan Super Lawyers since 2016 for Nonprofit Organizations. Oertel was listed as one of Michigan’s “Notable Women in Law” by Crain’s Detroit Business 2021 and has been included in DBusiness Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” list since 2015 for Nonprofit/Charities Law.
