Overview

Anna Marie Maxwell is an Associate in Bodman’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice group, representing clients involved in complex commercial litigation matters.

Before joining Bodman as an attorney, Anna served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, where she drafted orders and opinions, conducted legal research, and prepared hearing and trial materials. She also served as a judicial extern with Judge David McKeague at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and as a Judicial Intern to Justice Elizabeth M. Welch of the Michigan Supreme Court.

Previously Anna was a summer associate in Bodman’s Detroit office, where she researched and drafted memoranda on substantive and procedural matters involving trademark infringement, real estate, tax, and commercial litigation.

While in law school, Anna served as Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan State Law Review and as an oralist and brief writer for moot court. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Justin Simard at Michigan State University College of Law, where she worked as Director of Case Collections on the Citing Slavery Project.
