Gregory LaVoy represents clients in complex litigation in state and federal courts. He has experience handling a wide range of matters involving construction defects, tort and automobile liability, premises liability, insurance coverage disputes, employment claims, products liability, and contract disputes.
Through strategic motion practice, he has secured favorable decisions at trial, dismissals, summary judgements, and other dispositive victories for his clients, which include businesses, insurers, contractors, and property owners in high-stakes litigation. Mr. LaVoy also has significant appellate experience and has successfully represented clients before Michigan’s appellate courts, obtaining a number of reversals of trial court rulings.
Before joining Bodman, Mr. Lavoy was a partner at a Michigan-based civil defense firm, where he handled a broad range of appellate and civil litigation matters. After earning his J.D., he served as as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert P. Young, Jr., then Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, providing him with valuable insight into appellate advocacy and judicial decision-making.
As a law student, he served as a Senior Editor of the Ava Maria Law Review and was honored with the Faculty Award for Excellence in Written Advocacy.
