Sungjin Yoo represents a variety of corporate and family office clients in connection with the structuring and negotiation of complex transactions and on general organizational and business matters.
Before joining Bodman, Sungjin served as in-house counsel and investment team member at an investment advisory firm affiliated with a family office. In his legal role, he provided day-to-day legal services related to private equity investments and also supported key stakeholders on a wide range of other projects, including venture capital, professional sports teams and philanthropic endeavors. More recently, Sungjin spent time on the investment team, where he gained direct experience sourcing, diligencing and selecting private equity fund investments. Sungjin began his legal career with an Am Law 200 firm as a corporate associate focusing his practice on M&A, private equity and general corporate matters.
As a law student at Washington University School of Law, Sungjin was a student attorney in the Entrepreneurship & Intellectual Property Clinic and an Executive Articles Editor for the Washington University Global Studies Law Review. He also participated in the International and Comparative Business Law Program at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. As an undergraduate student, he served as a research assistant with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
Sungjin is fluent in Korean and is proficient in German.
