Cameron D. Ritsema represents employers in the full range of labor and employment law matters including day to day employment law counseling, traditional labor law matters, the development of employer policies and practices, and employment-related litigation and dispute resolution processes.
Cameron has drafted and negotiated all manner of employment-related documents including employment and separation agreements, settlement agreements, employee handbooks, employment policies, and confidentiality, non-competition, and non-disparagement agreements. He has represented employers in front of the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Indiana Civil Rights Commission, OSHA and various other administrative agencies.
Before joining Bodman, Cameron was an associate at an AmLaw 200 law firm where he represented employers in connection with a broad variety of employment-related counseling and litigation including M&A integration, litigation avoidance employment policies, disciplinary actions, terminations, severances, reductions in force, FLSA, FMLA and WARN Act compliance and classifications, and Department of Labor investigations.
As a law student, Cameron served as the managing editor for the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. He participated in the Sherman Minton Moot Court competition and was a semi-finalist in the Maurer Internal Trial Competition.
Cameron is a United States Marine Corps veteran, having attained the rank of Corporal while serving as a Fire Direction Center Chief and Squad Leader.
