Bodman PLC Admits Six New Members

Bodman PLC has admitted Jonathan S. Berg, Jonathan P. Burleigh, Kelly M. Burnell, Angela Alvarez Sujek, Jessica VanWert, and Maya K. Watson as members of the firm.
Berg, of Bodman’s Troy office, is a member of the Business, Enterprise Procurement, and Intellectual Property practice groups. He represents clients in a variety of business matters including corporate organization, mergers and acquisitions, technology outsourcing, securities offerings, and other commercial transactions.
Berg was previously an associate attorney with Bodman. He is a graduate of Miami University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Burleigh, of Bodman’s Troy office, is a member of the Business, Enterprise Procurement, and Intellectual Property practice groups. He negotiates agreements and manages projects across a range of business relationships, with a focus on transactions involving information technology, securities, corporate outsourcing, human resources, consulting services, records management, security services and equipment, facilities management, credit and prepaid card agreements, and transportation and logistics. He also represents businesses in matters involving corporate organization, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions.
Burleigh was previously an associate attorney with Bodman. Before joining the firm, he worked in corporate sales as a national account director and sales manager. He is a graduate of American University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Burnell, of Bodman’s Detroit office, is a member of the Individual Clients Practice Group. She advises clients on estate, gift, and income tax matters. She also focuses her practice on estate planning and business planning.
Burnell was previously an associate attorney at Bodman. Before joining Bodman, she was an attorney in tax services at Ernst & Young. Burnell is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University College of Law.
Sujek, of Bodman’s Ann Arbor office, is a member of the Intellectual Property and Business practice groups. She counsels clients on a wide range of intellectual property matters in the United States and internationally including trademark registration, maintenance and renewal; enforcement and defense of trademark rights; copyright registration and enforcement; and domain name issues and disputes.
Sujek was previously a senior attorney at Bodman. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo College of Law.
VanWert, of Bodman’s Detroit office, is a member of the Banking Practice Group. She concentrates her practice in representing lenders in commercial loan originations.
VanWert was previously an associate attorney at Bodman. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Indiana University School of Law.
Watson, of Bodman’s Detroit office, is a member of the Banking Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on legal issues related to banking, troubled properties, commercial real estate transactions, and multi-state financing.
Watson was previously an associate attorney at Bodman. Prior to joining Bodman, she practiced with another large Detroit-based firm where she represented financial institutions in loan originations, workouts and litigation. Watson is a graduate of Lincoln University and Wayne State University Law School.
