Alex Haney is a member of the Enterprise Procurement Group. He represents business clients in the drafting and negotiation of a broad range of contracts. Alex takes into account the specifics of each client and each transaction to ensure he is providing meaningful counsel to achieve timely resolution of the issues presented.
Alex has extensive experience negotiating information technology contracts, including software licensing, software as a service agreements, and related professional services. Alex also routinely advises clients on the implications of leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) in all components of their business. Alex also negotiates agreements in the contracting manufacturing space, from early development initiatives to full commercial product launches.
Alex has particular experience working with clients in highly regulated industries, including finance and life sciences. Alex is able to efficiently navigate robust requirements driven by client risk tolerance and regulatory frameworks. His ability to see the “big picture” and take a risk-based approach to providing counsel helps clients focus on material issues and arrive at mutually acceptable, and at times creative, solutions.
While attending law school, Alex worked in the Transactional Lab as a mentor, having previously been a student in the lab. His duties included assisting students with organization, drafting contracts, and using design tools to improve deal making for corporate clients.
Before beginning his legal career, Alex worked in construction in the petroleum industry and also served as a varsity high school football coach in New York.
In his free time, Alex enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and spending time with his family.
